Akshaya has done her Masters in Law in Human Rights and is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Law in Amity University, Mumbai. Her experience and research area includes:- Human Rights, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Law and Medicine. She has rich experience in the legal industry as well as in academics. She is also an entrepreneur in organic farming with her husband.
Akshaya has been previously associated with Majlis Legal Centre (NGO) as Legal Consultant and Lawyer where along with litigation, she has delivered lectures at various institutions including Maharashtra Judicial Academy on Gender sensitization while implementing legislation. She has been a part of their research team and has developed course modules for protection officers for better understanding of Protection of Women from Domestic violence Act 2005.
Her research and publications include papers on the topics of Uniform Civil Code, Gender Equality- Social Empowerment of Women and its Challenges and Analysis of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 and Strategies for its Effective Implementation etc.
She has also written chapters in books such as Sustainable Development and Environment Governances and Progress in English literature and women Empowerment.
Currently she is pursuing her PhD in Human Rights (Analysis of Organ Transplantation Act).
